What is Nomad Running?

Nomad Running Society initially started based off of an idea that people who were "Nomad" had a sincere desire to better themselves. People who woke up, excited, in the early hours of the morning asking, "What can be done today, that will make the difference tomorrow?" When looking back on the original "nomads" it is important to have a definition and a bit of history. A nomad is defined as a person who has no fixed residence but moves from place to place, usually seasonally. Nomadic people usually moved place to place so that they could better provide for their livestock and seasonal crops (their product). Nomad Running Society is about that too. Our product is our running and we are in a constant search of ways to improve upon that product. Although some people may see this as a "grass is always greener" mentality, we at Nomad believe in watering our own grass.

Colby Mehmen, Nomad Running Coach

Colby Mehmen

Colby Mehmen has been running competitively for the past 14 years, and has experience with many different training styles. He competed for SFASU for 4 years where he attained Personal records of 14:24 (5K) and 29:34 (10K). Currently running for "Nomad Elite" he is the defending BMW Dallas Half Marathon Champion where he completed the tough course solo in 1:05:15. He has been coaching athletes online for sometime now and his excited to launch Nomad Development.

Luke Scribner, Nomad Running Coach

Luke Scribner is the Head Track and Cross Country Coach for Melissa High School. In his first year of Coaching his team placed 4th at the UIL state meet in Division 4A. and also Coaches many other adult running groups from any distance of 5k - Marathon. Luke ran for 4 years collegiately at Tarleton State University and McMurry University where he ran the 5k & 10k. Now he moved up to the Marathon where he placed 6th overall at the 2016 BMW Dallas Marathon. in 2016.

Tyler Hemenway, Nomad Running Coach

Tyler Hemenway

Tyler Hemenway, ran 4 years for Texas A and M Commerce, where he grabbed a PR of 1:52:13 in the 800. He has 12 years of running experience and also works a 9 - 5 job, but has perfected the art of squeezing his runs in with such a hectic schedule. Tyler looks forward to working with you daily and reaching the goals you have set fourth.

Cody Campbell, Nomad Running Coach

Cody Campbell

Cody Campbell has been running his entire life. Out of our group he is the only High School State Champion. He was the Texas 2A 3200m Champion running a time of 9:28, missing the State Record by a measly 2 seconds. He the attended Cameron University his first 2 years of college and went on to compete at the University of North Texas. After College, Cody started a High School running group called Runners Avenue where he has helped Athletes in the Frisco Area. He joins us at the Nomad team looking to help runners achieve their dreams.

Jacob Phillips, Nomad Running Coach

Jacob Phillips

Jacob Phillips has been running competitively for over 10 years, and has experience in racing the 800m all the way up to the 100K. He was a member of the Dallas Baptist University Cross Country and Track team where he earned personal bests of 1:53 in the 800m and 3:55 in the 1500m. He was a part of the 2011 DMR NCCAA National Championship team and was the 2013 NCCAA 1500m National Champion. After college Jacob went on to compete in ultra marathons semi-professionally, where he earned a 6th place finish at the 2017 Lake Sonoma 100K. Jacob is now returning to the track and had his debut race as a Nomad at the 2017 Dallas Turkey Trot 5K with a 2nd place finish. He pursues his passion for running while working full-time, going to nursing school, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
